Who Stands to Lose the Most
College basketball and football are the NCAA's two highest-revenue grossing sports.

However, a systemic change to how the NCAA compensates student-athletes would impact much more than just those players.
​
Rather, it's the athletes in the lower revenue sports, such as track and field, that would likely feel the largest impact.
Spencer Payton is a member of the track and field team at Stony Brook University. He is a sprinter and hurdler who has previously won the 60m hurdles, the 400m hurdles, and was played a role in an SBU victory in the 4x400m relay.

After he concludes his career on the track, he is looking to pursue a career in sports broadcasting or marketing.

Andreas Lietzau is a graduate student at Stony Brook University, completing his M.S. in Applied Mathematics.

When he enrolled at SBU he was a walk-on sprinter for the track and field team. Although, his passion for his academics quickly forced him into a tough decision, which ultimately resulted in his voluntary departure from the team.
